Barbican XL – Tips and Tricks

Here are some tips and tricks for getting the most out of our Barbican XL travel box, designed to hold the classic Carcassonne base game and up to two expansions.

How do I store the Expansions?

Extra space and storage options are provided in order to store various collections of expansions.  There are 2 tile areas and 2 storage boxes provided in the travel box, along with each player tray having a supplementary storage area.

Each tile area is sized to hold 24 standard Carcassonne tiles.

Where did the name "Barbican" come from?

We like to give our inserts names that are at least distant cousins to the theme of the game they support.  In this case, the “Barbican” is a fortified outpost or gateway for a city.  Seemed fitting with the castles and theme of Carcassonne.
