Here are some tips and tricks for getting the most out of our Solar Barque and Solar Barque XL inserts for the 25th Century Games Editions of Ra.

The Solar Barque XL version of this insert supports all of the following versions of Ra

  • Pharaoh Edition (wooden draw bag tiles)
  • Sun God Edition (acrylic draw bag tiles)
  • Retail Edition (cardboard draw bag tiles)

Solar Barque vs Solar Barque XL

Packing steps are slightly different for Solar Barque XL, so use the below recommended packing instructions that match your version. Additionally, the regular Solar Barque version of this insert only supports the Pharaoh Edition of the game.

What is the best way to load/pack Solar Barque into the game box?
  1. Place all the game boards in the box, snugged into 1 corner
  2. Place the two Scoring Token trays on top of the game boards, and the Sun Disk box, on its side, at the end of the trays, as shown below
  3. Place the remaining Ra tray on top of the Scoring Token trays
  4. Mold the tile draw bag to fit in the remaining space. You can store the cloth scoring token bag on top of the Sun Disk box.
Pharaoh Edition - What is the best way to load/pack Solar Barque XL into the game box?
  1. Set the traders boards to the side for now, and place all the remaining game boards in the box, snugged into 1 corner
  2. Place the Sun Disk box on its side and the Crates tray in the bottom as shown.
  3. Place the Traders boards on top of the crates tray
  4. Place the two Scoring Token trays on top of the game boards, followed by the Ra tray, as shown below
  5. Mold the tile draw bag to fit in the remaining space. You can store the cloth scoring token bag and crates bag on top of the Sun Disk box.
  6. Place the rules books / sheet on top and you are done
Sun God / Retail Editions - What is the best way to load/pack Solar Barque XL into the game box?
  1. Start with the empty box, as shown below.ย 
  2. Place the base game boards in the bottom as shown. (Note: keep the Trader’s expansion boards off to the side for the moment, they will go in later)
  3. Place the Sun Disk box on its side and the Crates tray in the bottom as shown. Place the Ra tray on top of the game boards, next to the Sun Disk box. The two Scoring Token trays go on top of the game boards as well, as shown.
  4. Place the Traders expansion boards, on edge, next to the scoring token trays and then cover the scoring token trays with the small cloth bags from the base game and expansion.ย  These will help keep the scoring tokens in their trays. (alternatively, you can use one or more of player boards to cover the scoring token trays)
  5. Mold the tile draw bag to fit in the remaining space.
  6. Place the rules books / sheet on top and you are done
