Announcing the release of “The Refinery” – Our Board Game insert for Pipeline

We are very happy to announce the release of our latest board game insert — The Refinery, available now in our shop!  Pipeline is from Ryan Courtney and Capstone Games, and is quickly becoming a family favorite for its variability, diversity, and quick play. 

This insert continues the tradition of efficient setup, play, and tear down, and has been a joy to pull together, even when you consider the mountain of “let’s try this” cast-offs  as you can see in the picture below.

The insert comes with 12 pieces, and we are also offering a unique optional additional component.  As we were reviewing play thru’s and playing Pipeline ourselves, we were wishing for something a little more structured to indicate which government quadrants were “closed” vs “open”.  To scratch that itch, we came up with the “QuadLock” pictured below.

This is a simple “prohibited” symbol that is open so that you can see some of the tiles underneath.  As part of setup, simply place the 4 Quadrant Locks on the Government pipe quadrants, and then throughout the game, remove them as players open each quadrant.  We feel this is a simple and effective addition to the game.

The insert supports both sleeved and non-sleeved cards.  There are some special considerations when sleeving the Upgrade cards, so be sure to check our Refinery Tips and Tricks page for the details.
